It's Mother's Day. I should tell you about all the wonderful things about my mom. Instead, I'm going to share with you her one fault:
Her one fault is that she doesn't know how great she really is!
When my mom comes to visit, she is usually up super early in the morning for the long drive. She was also probably up late the night before packing. She has to be exhausted -- but it doesn't matter. She gets right down to business being Grandma.
She also comes bearing gifts. If it is a tea set, she doesn't just say, "Go play." She puts on her best British accent, lifts her pinky, and plays "tea." In fact, from the moment she arrives the kids disappear, and I am suddenly left alone in a room of peace and quiet, totally unsure of what to do!
You can only imagine how loud and crazy it gets with not one, not two, but three little talkers vying for Grandma's attention. Somehow, it doesn't seem to phase her. She tries to listen to each one, and gives each one special attention; even the non-talker. Oh, how dearly we love Grandma!
She watches movies with us. She does art with us.
Truly, I could go on and on. Most importantly, my mom taught me about Jesus. She is generous, compassionate, and has a heart of gold. She makes us smile. She makes Jesus smile. Thanks for all you do, Mom. I love you! We love you!
